Often, the difference between former customers and those who continue to return is often the experience that they have with you. If you are able to provide great customer service, you are more likely to have customers that can’t wait to come back!
Though you may think that providing great customer service is difficult, it doesn’t have to be. Here are some tips to help.
Pay attention to everything about your customer’s experience. One little thing can change your customer’s mind. They may enjoy the time that they spent in your shop until it came time to deal with the cashier. They may have had a lovely visit but when they needed to return an item, it was so difficult that they just decide to go elsewhere.
It is your job to make sure that your customers have a good experience from the first moment that they walk into the door (or the first communication that they have) until they leave and return.
If you made a mistake, be human and admit it. Everyone makes mistakes, even business owners and employees. Your customers know this so if something gets messed up, you should just admit it. This will show your customers that you aren’t afraid to own up to your mistakes and fix them. They will really appreciate it if you are honest with them upfront.
Be available to your customers. The best customer service teams are available to customers in many different ways. Customers can stop by the shop, call, and send an e-mail, depending on what is most convenient for them.
Though it can be hard to provide good customer service, it is essential to a growing business. If your customers have a good experience from beginning to end, they are more likely to return again and again.
