When you own a small business, there often isn’t much left over money to show your employees how much you appreciate them. Even though they are quick to work later than normal or pick up a shift, you may not be able to thank them as much as you think that they deserve. However, there are ways to show your appreciation, without spending too much money.
Here are some ways to reward your employees.
A simple thank you will go a long way. Many employees work hard because they enjoy their work and their boss. When they pick up extra shifts, it is because they know how much it means to their employers. That being said, a simple thank you can go a long way.
You may even want to write them a thank-you card. A handwritten note will also go a long way to showing your employees how well you value them.
You may even want to have an employee of the month. By having an employee of the month (and putting it out there for everyone to see), you are showing your employees that you appreciate their hard work. Your customers will also notice that you are proud of your employees too.
Make sure that your employees have the equipment that they need to do their job. Though you may not think about this as a reward, getting better office chairs will show your employees that you value their comfort. If you find that they need something to be able to do their work better, purchase it as soon as you can. They will notice that you see that they have a need, and you are willing to fill it!
Have a monthly lunch to show your employees how much you appreciate them. Lunch doesn’t have to be much, a few pizzas will show your employees that they are doing a good job.
Though you want to reward your employees, the truth is that you may not have the funds to do so. That being said, a simple thank you or even a thank-you card can go a long way. You may also want to have an employee of the month to showcase how proud you are of your employees. Lunches will also do the same!
